Kamera ini sempat terpantau oleh radar rumor kami beberapa waktu yang lalu. Dan hari ini Nikon telah mengumumkan kamera DSLR terbaru mereka itu yaitu Nikon D5300, yang merupakan penerus dari D5200. Fitur-fitur baru meliputi penghilangan filter AA, megapixel yang lebih tinggi dari sebelumnya pada sensor CMOS 24MP, sebuah LCD 3.2 inchi yang bisa diputar, dan juga optical viewfinder yang sedikit lebih besar, mendukung video 1080/60p, built-in Wi-Fi dan GPS.

Nikon mengklaim bahwa prosesor baru D5300 yaitu EXPEED 4 (pertama kali digunakan) mampu meningkatkan kinerja, memungkinkan untuk mengambil foto 5 fps dan kualitas foto, sekaligus mengurangi konsumsi daya. Nikon D5300 tersedia dalam pilihan warna hitam, merah atau abu-abu, dilepas dengan harga USD $1399,99 mendapatkan lensa kit baru 18-140 F3.5-5.6G atau $790 untuk Body Only.
