Sorry for late posting this press release. Leica few days ago in the Photokina event to announce the new X series camera with a lens that is pretty fast F/1.7. Leica X Typ 113 still uses a 16MP APS-C sensor and offers a 23mm lens (35mm equiv.) with fast aperture f/1.7 that is much faster than the previous f/2.8. While the X2 models will have new name Leica X-E.
The 23mm lens composed of ten elements, two of the elements are aspherical, in eight groups. Focus is on the minimum 20cm to infinity. The auto focus using contrast detection method and manual focus is also available. Leica X Typ 113 will be released with a Leica’s premium price USD $ 2.295. (FYI, the same price you can get a Nikon D750 Full Frame DSLR with a pro feature).
