Setelah seminggu sebelumnya dirumorkan gambar dan spesifikasinya, Panasonic benar mengumumkan kamera poket terbaru mereka yaitu Lumix TZ100 atau ZS100. Kamera Panasonic TZ100 adalah yang pertama kamera superzoom kompak dengan menyertakan tipe sensor 1 inci.
Meskipun memiliki sensor empat kali lebih besar daripada kebanyakan kamera zoom travel, TZ100 berhasil menanamkan lensa zoom Leica 25-250mm (35mm equic) pada bodi yang sangat kecil. Tidak hanya itu, Panasonic berhasil membuat ruang untuk built-in viewfinder dan dua kontrol dial fungsi penuh.
