Nikon telah mengumumkan kamera terbaru mereka DSLR D610 bersensor 24MP full-frame, seperti yang pernah dirumorkan secara general sebelumnya. Dirilis hanya setahun setelah D600, D610 sepertinya adalah update minor, dengan mode baru quiet continuous shooting mode, meningkatkan akurasi white balance dan burst shot yang lebih cepat. Selain hal tersebut, D610 pada dasarnya adalah kamera yang sama seperti D600. Harga Body Only kamera ini berkisar di USD $2000 atau dengan lensa kit 24-85mm f/3.5-4.5G ED VR Lens adalah sekitar USD $2600.

Sebenarnya Nikon D600 merupakan kamera DSLR yang sangat baik, dengan kualitas foto yang terbaik, body kuat, dan kemampuan merekam film yang mengesankan. Sayangnya untuk Nikon D600 “terkena kasus” adanya pengumpulan minyak pada sensor – masalah yang Nikon memang akan tangani di service center mereka, tetapi mereka tidak mengakui penyebab sebenarnya dari masalah.
